Social Security

There is a great battle in this country over the future of Social Security.  On the one side - our side - is a broad coalition of citizen leaders and policy makers who believe that Social Security is a good program that must be protected for the future because this country needs a guaranteed safety net for retirees, for disabled workers and their families, for survivors and their families.

On the other side is a coalition of anti-government forces and financial interests that believe that Social Security benefits are too large - and people should invest on their own, sink or swim. 

Will Social Security be there for you when you need it?  For your parents?  For your children?  That depends on who wins the fight.
